Kdrama Crazy Love

kdrama crazy love

Crazy Love
is one of my favorite Kdramas I have watched this year.

It's got at least 3 of my favorite Kdrama ingredients:

  • Boss and employee love
  • Hate to love
  • Fake engagement

Crazy Love: the story

No Go Jin is the obnoxious boss. And obnoxious he very much is! He treats Lee Shin, who works as his secretary, terribly!

So it's no wonder that there comes a moment that she snaps. Also, she's told she's got cancer and will die soon. There's nothing like hearing you're gonna die to make you not care anymore about the consequences of your actions.

Lee Shin fights with No Go Jin

She goes to No Go Jins vacation home with a hammer and her letter of resignation. This results in a hilarious fight between them where Lee Shin gives as good as she gets.

After she storms off, No Go Jin gets hit by a car and lies mortally wounded on the road. Lee Shin gets worried, turns her car around and calls for help, thereby saving his life.

No Go Jin Amnesia

Then it turns out No Go Jin has amnesia!

Lee Shin sees his amnesia as an opportunity to get her revenge, because she still hates him. She tells him they're engaged, and makes him eat onions for one thing.

But wait a minute!

It turns out No Go Jin doesn't really have amnesia! He was faking it, to find out who want to murder him. After a while Lee Shin finds out he doesn't have amnesia. After which No Go Jin proceeds to blackmail her into doing his bidding.

All the time.

What's so great about Crazy Love?

I love the fact that it's kind of a crazy story, and the way No Go Jin and Lee Shin literally fight. Also Kim Jae Wook* (also known from Coffee Prince) is a great actor.

I really love the romance storyline and there's a lot of hugging.

Oddly enough, there's more hugging than kissing!

Love story on the back burner

Unfortunately around episode 14 I think it is, the love story is put on the backburner. It's like they thought:

'Lets neatly wrap up all the stories and characters.'

I kind of started forwarding through that bit.

But in the last episode it's more about No Go Jin and Lee Shin once more.

You even get to see them living happily ever after in domestic bliss : )

Crazy Love trailer

The Crazy Love trailer puzzles me. It's nice, but it doesn't really do justice to this Kdrama I think. For one thing, you never see them getting married in Crazy Love.

However it does show the crazy in this Kdrama.

Summing up: I recommend Crazy Love

Crazy Love is not as good as my favorite Kdrama Fated to love you, but it's kind of  in the neighborhood! It's rated 8.3 on MyDramaList but I think it's worth an 8.9.

Also, I love Kdramas that use familiar tropes!

Watch Crazy Love

I watched Crazy Love on KissAsian but it's also available on Viki and Disney+!

*You can also see him in Her private life!

Business proposal Korean drama

business proposal kdrama

It's been a while since I last read about a Kdrama and thought: 'I wanna watch this one!'

But when I read about Business proposal my heart skipped a beat.

Because Kdramas with fake relationships and marriage contracts are my favorite kind!

So, what's Business proposal all about?

Kdrama Business proposal

It all starts with Kang Tae Mue, CEO of a company his grandfather founded. His grandfather wants him to get married and forces him to go on blind dates.

But Kang Tae Mue doesn't want to.

He's all business.

However he gives in to his grandfather's wishes and goes on a date with Jin Young Seo.

Or so he thinks.

When Shin Ha Ri met Kang Tae Mue

Because Jin Young Seo didn't want to go on a blind date either, and pressured her friend Shin Ha Ri into going in her place. Their plan is for Shin Ha Ri to behave so obnoxiously that Kang Tae Mue will never ever want to see her again.

But no matter how cringey Shin Ha Ri is, and she really is, Kang Tae Mue isn't turned off.

In fact, he decides she's the perfect woman to fake a relationship with, and get his grandfather off his back. H

e even blackmails her into participating.

So far, nothing new.

But that's okay.

Because the fake relationship trope is great just as it is.

Business proposal Kdrama trailer!

Kdrama Business proposal: not quite as good as I had hoped

So, even though I love, love, love the storyline I feel like Business proposal loses momentum. After loving the first 6 episodes I started to lose interest.

Maybe it's because Kang Tae Mue is no longer oblivious to his own feelings. He realizes he really likes Shin Ha Ri, and is all in.

Which was nice, but after a while I started to feel the story had been told. Which is probably why there are only 12 episodes.

Also I did not like the second storyline of Kang Tae Mue's friend and Shin Har Ri's friend very much. Then again: I never do appreciate the secondary storylines in Kdramas.

I only wanna watch the main story ; )

Kdrama Business proposal: skinship

There's a certain amount of skinship in Business proposal. Although the kissing could have been better, there's actually a little bit of a bedroom scene. Something which doesn't happen very often in Kdramas in my experience.

Summing up

Business proposal is a nice Korean drama, but not great. However it's very safe to watch, as you don't have to worry about your heart getting broken.

Business proposal is rated 8.8 on DramaCool.

I think it deserves an 8.

Watch Business proposal

You can actually watch Business proposal on Netflix! Or on Viki of course.

How did you like Business proposal?

Kdrama Monthy Magazine Home: romance and a bit of cohabitation!

Kdrama monthly magazine

I greatly enjoyed the Kdrama Monthly Magazine Home!

I think it's one of those underrated Korean dramas that didn't get the attention and applause it deserved.

Having said that: it's not pushing boundaries or being very original.

But that's what I loved about it: Monthly Magazine Home embraces some of my favorite classic tropes like hate to love and cohabitation!

Monthly Magazine Home: the story

The female lead is Na Young Won. She's worked very hard, and endured lots of hardships. But in spite of her hard work as a senior editor, she's still dirt poor. She even loses her rental home when the cold CEO Yoo Ja buys her house.

Her friend helps her get a job at the monthly magazine Monthly House she works for. And you'll never guess who's her new boss! That's right, none other than Yoo Ya who made her homeless!

Now, this could have been cause for Na Young Won to be all: 'I'm going to get revenge on Yoo Ya,' but instead she just gets on with it.  She works hard and tries to write the kind of articles Yoo Ya wants.

Slowly but surely they start to have feelings for each other, and romance blossoms.

3 reasons why I love this Kdrama

  1. I really like Na Young Won's character. I dislike those 'feisty' female leads who are angry all the time and want to get revenge.
  2. I loved the small ways in which you see the hard-as-nails CEO Yoo Ya falling for Na Young Won. I especially loved the scene in which he drives at a snail's place on the highway to not disturb Na Young Won in her sleep. It was so sweet!
  3. There's a bit of cohabitation in this Kdrama! Na Young Won lives with Yoo Ya for a short while.
  4. It's got Kim Won Hae Choi Go in it as Monthly House' editor-in-chief. I have loved him ever since I saw him in Strong Woman Bong Soon.

What's not to like about Monthly Magazine?

At the end it dragged a bit. It would have been fine if they'd stopped at the 9th episode, after Na Young Won and Yoo Ya get together. Everything after that felt a bit superfluous. Like they had to wring out 7 more episodes.

I didn't like the way Na Young Won suddenly and abruptly left Yoo Ya's home, nor did I like it that she felt the unnecessary need to break up with him in the last episode!

Like I said: they should have quit while they were ahead.

Watch the trailer of Montly Magazine. Just press cc and you get English subs.

Summing up

If you like the old fashioned Kdramas, with simple tropes like a mean boss and some cohabitation thrown in there, you're gonna like Monthly Magazine Home.

But if you're into cutting edge Kdramas that go where no Kdrama has gone before, this one is not for you.

It was rated a 7.7 on MyDramalist which seems a bit low to me.

I would rate the first 9 episodes a 9!

The ones after that a 5.

Practical info

There are 16 episodes. I watched Monthly Magazine Home on kissasian.ch. It's also available on Viki.

Kdrama: What's wrong with Secretary Kim?

What's wrong with Secretary Kim?

What's Wrong with Secretary Kim is een heerlijk romantische Koreaans drama met alle juiste ingrediënten.

What's wrong with Secretary Kim: het verhaal

What's wrong with Secretary Kim gaat over de zelfingenomen Lee Young Joon en zijn secretaresse Kim Mo So.

'What's wrong with Secretary Kim?'

Andere verhaallijn

Ik ben erg enthousiast over What's wrong with Secretary Kim?

Mijn conclusie over What's wrong with Secretary Kim?

Dan is What's wrong with Secretary Kim? zeker iets voor jou.
